The transformer uses cold-pressed silicon steel sheets.

2026-01-27

The silicon steel of Transformers generally uses oriented cold-rolled silicon steel sheets as the magnetic core material. Oriented cold-rolled silicon steel sheets include: traditional type, high magnetic conductivity type and laser-irradiated type.

1.Thickness: The standard model has a thickness of 0.3mm. There are also pieces with thicknesses of 0.27mm and 0.23mm. The thinner the thickness, the lower the unit loss, and the smaller the laminated coefficient.
2. Unit loss: There are two types of values. One is the maximum guaranteed value and the other is the standard value. After the design is completed, the maximum guaranteed value is used as the calculation value. Generally, it is ensured that the unit loss value is 1.7T when operating at 50 Hz or 60 Hz.
3.Orientation degree: High magnetic conductivity silicon steel sheets have an orientation angle of 3°, while traditional type grain-oriented silicon steel sheets have an orientation angle of 7°. The core should adopt a fully butt-jointed structure.
4.Magnetic induction intensity is represented by B8, that is, when the excitation current is 800 A/m, the magnetic flux density B8 should be as high as possible.
5.The process coefficient of loss is related to the following factors:
a. The size of burrs;
b. The bending degree of silicon steel sheets;
c. The number of laminations per layer and the lamination process (whether the yoke is stacked);
d. The type of seam;
e. The tolerance of the weight of each lamination;
f. The pressure received during shearing.
6.The influence of silicon steel sheets on the performance of The Transformer
The material and processing technology of silicon steel sheets affect the no-load loss and noise level of the transformer.
7.The no-load loss of each process of the transformer is different.
a. Sampling of silicon steel sheets for factory acceptance test;
b. Before the core is stacked and before the windings are inserted;
c. The process of the transformer body after the windings are inserted;
d. The finished transformer;
e. After the impact test.
Generally, the no-load loss value after the impact test should be taken as the factory guarantee value, because after the impact test, the no-load loss is usually increased.
8.The working magnetic flux density of the iron core should not be too high, as it can affect the noise level, no-load loss value, no-load current value and the harmonic content.
For various cold-rolled silicon steel sheets, including grain-oriented cold-rolled silicon steel sheets, high-magnetic-conductivity cold-rolled silicon steel sheets, laser-irradiated or plasma-surface-treated high-magnetic-conductivity silicon steel sheets, the saturation magnetic flux density is the same.
